The first technology we are offering, "System and method for acoustic to electronic transduction", is an ultrasound sensor that uses a gas-discharge tube as its transducing element. Patents are pending in the US (assigned to Princeton University) and in Europe. USPTO Application Number 16/270,787 and EPO Application No. 19020369.5, respectively. Compared to conventional, piezoelectric sensors it has flat frequency response and better tolerance of heat and radiation. The target application is structural health monitoring (detecting ultrasonic acoustic emissions spontaneously emitted when metal structures start to degrade due to material fatigue). There is a brief write-up in the form of a blog post. We are currently looking for licensees and can help customize the technology for their needs.
